Wolfgang Tölsner is the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bombardier Transportation GmbH, the German subsidiary of the global leader in rail technology Bombardier Transportation. The 67-year-old was recently unanimously elected by the Supervisory Board and is assuming the office of Dr. Lutz Bertling. As the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Tölsner is simultaneously a member of the Executive Committee and a member of the Conciliation Committee of Bombardier Transportation GmbH. “With my many years of experience in the industry and in deep connection with Bombardier Transportation, I would like to actively support the company in the current strained situation,” commented Wolfgang Tölsner on his new vocation.

Wolfgang Tölsner is among the most prolific experts in the rail industry. He has been active in various leadership positions in the rail industry for over 20 years, most of which with Bombardier. From 2004 to 2009, Tölsner was Chief Operating Officer of Bombardier Transportation. He was President of the Locomotives and Freight sector of Bombardier Transportation from 2001 to 2004. He worked for Deutsche Waggonbau GmbH from 1999 to 2001 as Executive Director. In addition, Tölsner was a member of the Executive Committee of the German Railway Industry Association from 1996 to 1998. Mr Tölsner currently holds various supervisory and advisory offices and works as an advisor in the railway environment. He studied electrical engineering and earned his degree as a graduate engineer at the Technical University of Hanover.
